LGBTQ and allies for Russian speakers Fort Lauderdale is a support group for the Russian speaking LGBTQ plus community and their allies who live in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. Meetings are on the third Friday of the month from 6pm to 7pm. We will meet by the tree in the park next to the parking lot of the Art Serve building in Fort Lauderdale. The street address is 1350 E Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304 Visitors from out of town and non Russian speaking guests are welcome. This group works in partnership with RUSA LGBTQ+. RUSA LGBTQ+ is a not for profit grassroots organization based in New York City that is for the Russian speaking LGBTQ+ people and immigrants and their allies who live in the United States. For more information please visit https://www.rusalgbtq.org This month’s discussion is on the importance of using gender neutral language and pronouns and how to support the trans and non binary community, in honor of Transgender awareness month. There will be a resource given with a list of online and in person groups and events in the area that help and meet the needs of the LGBTQ community who are Russian speaking. Please bring a snack and a non alcoholic beverage for yourself. There will be bottles of purified drinking water available. Please bring a loan chair or something to sit on.
