We Stand With the LGBTQ+ Community in Uganda

Defending LGBTQ+ Rights: From Uganda to the World, We Stand United Against Discrimination

We Stand With the LGBTQ+ Community in Uganda

We are deeply saddened and angered by the anti-LGBTQ legislation that has been passed in Uganda. It is a grave violation of human rights and will have a devastating impact on the lives of LGBTQ+ people in the country. We urge the international community to speak out and to take action to protect the rights of queer people.

This is the same narrative that had criminalized LGBTQ+ expression in Russia. "Don't say gay bill" in Florida is in line with it as well. These bills are all based on the same homophobic and transphobic beliefs that LGBTQ+ people are somehow less than human. They are all designed to silence and erase LGBTQ+ people from public life.

We will not stand for this. We will not let these bills be used to justify violence and discrimination against LGBTQ people. We will continue to fight for equality and justice for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

We stand with the LGBTQ community in Uganda and around the world. We will not be silenced. We will not be erased!
