The second annual Brighton Beach Pride Parade was held on May 20, 2018, in New York’s Russian-speaking neighborhood. The parade was attended by about 500 young LGBTQ people and their allies who marched down the boardwalk from Coney Island to Brighton Beach.
The event was organized by RUSA LGBTQ+, an advocacy group, to protest homophobia and discrimination in the neighborhood, which with its large Russian-speaking population is a link to their native cultures.
